Archive for month: February, 2014
Hey guys – we’re 10 days into our Kickstarter and we’re nearing the 20% mark with close to $4,500 raised so far! Thanks so everyone that’s gotten us this far. We have some great events that have both just been nailed down. I want to invite everyone reading this to both of them!
The first event I want to share with you guys is at the Rookery AleHouse in downtown Pomona, on Friday Feb. 21st from 7pm- closing. Join on Facebook Here. We’re going to have an awesome event, there’s going to be prints on the walls, local area brewers to meet, and plenty of great beer! A portion of the proceeds will be going to our Kickstarter campaign, so be sure to drink your fill! Should be a great time and I’m looking forward to enjoying this party with all my Pomona and IE brethren.
The next event will be at the Side Door in Corona del Mar on Tuesday, Feb. 25th, from 6pm-10pm. This is going to take place on their beautiful outdoor back patio, we’ll be showing portraits on a projector, free appetizers for all and plenty of delicious beer. Join on Facebook Here (important to do this so we know how many people to expect). A portion of the proceeds will be going towards the Kickststarter, and we’ll be having some Orange County brewers attend this event so be sure to stop by and say hello.
We’re planning more events like this throughout California, stay informed by following us on Facebook and Twitter. And if you haven’t yet, nows the time to DONATE! Help us out on Kickstarter, this project is only successful if we meet our goal!
For those that have already backed, you can guarantee that your rewards make it to you by encouraging friends to donate! Tell them why you think this is a worthwhile project and tell them why you decided to back it. And again – thank you SO MUCH for supporting California BrewMasters!
Book Progress & Promotion
In other news, we’re getting some great promotion for the book. We have several blog posts going out across craft beer media. While this book is based in California, I used to live in Washington, DC. I was very excited to do an interview with ExposedDC, a great photography blog in Washington. Check out the interview I did with them here:
I’ll be sure to share other media and promotion with you guys so you can follow the progress.
We also had an awesome release party last Saturday at City Beer Store in San Francisco. We had an awesome turn out! The prints of brewer portraits will be up at City Beer until the end of March, so be sure to stop by if you’re in the city and check them out for yourself. Here are some pictures from the party.
What a great turn out!
Fans donated to our project on laptops provided at the event
Me and the lovely Beth Wathen, owner of City Beer Store
Myself, Marin Brewing Co’s Arne Johnson, and Triple Rock brewer Jeff Kimpe
As for book progress, we’re working hard to bring this book together and have it out by this June! We’re beginning to come up with cover concepts, and we’re busy editing interviews and photographs to include in the book. As we go through this process we’ll be sharing our progress with you guys.
So thanks again to everyone for your support and donations, if you’re on the fence, send us an email! I’m happy to answer any and all questions. Together, we can bring this book to life, and with it, share the valuable insight from California’s best brewers with beer fans everywhere. Cheers to you guys!
This book is going to tell you a lot about these brewers… you’re going to get to meet them on a very personal level. That’s why we’re bringing you in close, VERY close, so you can get face to face. We thought we’d get that first awkward meeting out of the way. So, what is Peter Zien, head brewer at AleSmith up to? Or Tyler King, brewmaster at Orange County’s own The Bruery? Find out by helping us make this book hit the shelves. Go to our Kickstarter at:
